Funny Story.

You won't believe what happened! Ok, my morning strated off with me missing my regular 7:10am bus. Then I had to sit at the bus stop in this cold weather for at least half an hour. So instead of sitting on the wet benches provided to bus riders, I put my English 1101 folder on the wet bench so I could sit on. Half an hour later while shiverring from the cold weather, the bus came. I was so glad tot see the bus that I quickly jumped up from my sit to get on the bus. Not until after the bus pulled off till I realized that I left my English 1101 folder on the wet bench. lol. I couldn't believe how I did such as thing. But looking back on it now, It has been the funniest thing so far.
Now i'm sitting in class with an english Textbook without the English Folder. lol

So funny...I think.

Glorious Morning.

My heart is filled with joy. Filled with unbelievable feelings that i never knew could exist after such long period of time. Such feelings that usually appears during the blooming season of the year. I feel a melting in my heart...an experience that is very rear for a character such as mine. At times, i feel as though i'm walking on clouds and smiling at the littlest things...even when it isn't funny. lol.
My friend says it might be the me falling in love. I disagree with that beacause it will take a miracle for that to come true. But then again, who am i to say? God knows my what my heart desires and that's all that matters.

Rough Draft Essay #2: FAST FOOD CAN'T WIN OVER HOMECOOKING

If we take a look among our society today, we’ll notice that in every interstate exit is at least 4-5 fast food locations on each side of the road. It is an easier way of life for those who are none cooks or those who just don’t have the time. We, as humans, just don’t understand the fact that, that is spending extra money on food that only last for the time being. Also, fast food has changed today’s families in ways that our grandparents wouldn’t agree with. The valuable family time is being neglected because of the amount of time and money out into fast food restaurants.

At 17, Kelly and her twin brother barely have time for family events they once treasured when they were younger. Their parents always had always made sure that family time comes first before any other plans but that soon change when Kelly’s father broke the news to his family that his job required him to move a bigger city with more opportunity.
The transformation from a smaller town to a much bigger city affected the family in a huge way that family time became the least of matters. Kelly and her brother were more involved in school; the parents became more occupied with work and less attention family dinner. With nothing else to come home to, Kelly and her brother became regular fast food members. Every other morning, Kelly finds herself entering McDonald’s and exiting Taco Bell at night with something for her and her younger brother. The family closeness was no longer available for both Kelly and younger her brother.

As a young, outgoing first grade teacher, Josh often finds himself in a rush every morning. With his hectic daily routine, it is hard for him to have time for himself. A year before he landed his big break as an elementary teacher, he promised to maintain his weight by eating the right diet and exercising more with the hope of avoiding diabetics that seems to run in his family. But with Josh’s new life, he procrastinate his promises as he continues to make regular stops at one of the fast food places close by.

Fast foods are known to be unhealthy because if the fatty acids and high in cholesterol but uneasy to ignore while homemade food are more healthy and requires more time to cook. Homemade food has the power to bring closure within the family while fast food does the opposite.

The First Step

Good Morning.

Its ironic how can be so passionate about a long-term goal you may trying to acheive but you then find yourselve in making the effort to make it a reality.
Taking the first step into making your dreams into reality is the hardest step. For me, it takes someone to actually push me into that first step....the hardest step for me. Thanks to a new-found friend of mine. i can't thank her enough for believing in me and staying on me.

Thanks Friend.

Closed Doors

Good Morning.

Here I am trying to figure out what it is excatly I'm looking for in the oppsite sex. The answer to that is easy but yet hard to find among the opposite sex of today. Although I may be young, I've had quite a few relationships in the past but not one seem to have the whole package. Either he is Financially UNstable, thugs and wannabe's, unfaithfull, or just plain-old boring!!!
I don't get it! Why can't there just be someone out there that is a REAL MAN who handle what's his. If it's money, he doesn't have to worry about that because I have mines. Just as long as he has his.
Is that too much to ask for? My friends said to me that there is somone out there for every one but the ones i've been running into are just not my cup of tea.
Or is it me?
LOL...No...absoultely not.
It's a waste of time to invest my time into something I can't have for the long-term. Therefore, I'm closing all doors that doesn't intrest me.

Or what do you think?

2nd Draft: The beginning New Life In America

Kikelomo Moreira
Mrs.Sharon B. Aikens
English 1101
Descriptive Essay Rough Draft

My New Life in America

The two facts about Nigeria and America are, Nigeria is on the West of Africa where I was born

and raised, and America also known as the Land of Opportunity, stands by itself as a

continent. Both countries plays a huge roles in my life and they contribute to the person that I

am today. Nigeria has always been my all time favorite topic to share with people just as

America would be if I was to go back to my country. Nigeria is where my heart lays, my home,

and all I knew of before coming to the United States of America…my past. Never in a million

years would I think I would have a new beginning in America or anywhere else in that matter.

Oct 2002, at the age of 12, my adventure began to take formation as it marks the day I made

part with my other half into a world I have little to no knowledge about. Before leaving my

country behind, I took a look back wondering when or how I would return and if I would be

recognized as the same little innocent girl I was before my departure. Thoughts of disturbance

ran through my head as I pictured myself screaming at the top of my lungs for rescue from the

madness within myself that no one seem to notice but me. Waiting for the alarm to go off as it

does every morning to opening my eyes hoping this was all a dream…I soon learnt it wasn’t

when I was informed by a flight attendant to fasten my seatbelt.

Eight hours of tears, eight hours of pain, eight long hours of never getting the chance to say

goodbye was unbearable. It was bad enough that I had no other choice but the only one that was

given to me. Surprising how time seems to bypass when you pay little attention to it. Those eight

hours I spent dreading on what is soon to be my past felt like thirty minutes of the worst day of

my life. As we were half way through the long ride, I begin to ask God if this was what he

planned for me. If this was how he wanted me to find myself as a person (self identity). I

rememberd the advice I was given before departing "God doesn’t give you more than you can

handle.” These words of wisdom was what kept me from believing there wasn’t such a thing.

Not long before I drifted off to sleep, the Nigerian Airline plane landed on the ground that

was coated with nothing but neatly placed white ground there. I’ve never seen such a site.

Realizing my look of confusing the passenger next to me infromed me that the neatly white

coated ground is snow. Not sure what he was talking about, I nodded my head in agreement to

keep from looking or feeling stupid because of my lack knowledge with this new environment. As

soon as we entered the airport, I immediately notice the rush that people seem to have as if

their next step may be their last. Everything seemed to be moving at the speed of lighting. I

looked around to observe how everyone was dressed in long coats and gloves with scarves tied

around their neck and lower face. This seemed awfully odd, I thought. I didn’t quite understand

why they were so dressed in heavy clothing until I made my way out the opposite side of the

doorway. Immediately, I was greated by the wind that hit me as though I’ve been

hit with a bottle of ice freezed water. The wind felt as though I was going to be taken by it.

Between struggling to catch my breath, keeping my balance and keeping my luggage from

getting mixed up with the outside dirty snow that seems to be making its way into my sandals,

receiving assistance was the worst of all. It was hard enough that I couldn’t get a full

understanding of the way the English was that's begin spoken. I understood perfect English, but

understanding the American English was much harder than I expected.

From this point on, I realized that this is a new world, a new individual that has to make herself

known to this challenging world called America. The new level that marks the beginning of the

rest of my life. Having no clue, no supportive guardians, no mentor, in this life where I know no

one but me, myself and my father. A new life I had no control over…not by choice, but by

default.

Crazy Morning.

Good morning World,

This morining has been a crazy one so far. Just fels like things aren't going in an normal way it usually does. First, on my way to school this morning, the city bus i was on decides to take on it's on mind and break down in the freaking middle of an intersection!!! Can you believe that? The city bus?!!! i don't undertstand how the bus is not in a good condition whti all the money it making. Secondly, my cell phone also decides to enhance the madness i was already going through by almost breaking in half, the screws on it are so loose that the top half is dangling from the bottom half. lol. I sort of find it funny looking back on it now. It's just been a crazy morning but hopefully it will get better soon.

Well that's all for today while i try to retain myself from having anymore bad situations.

Money Give Away????

Good morning World,

Today is yet another day to be greatful for. There were some people who went to bed last night but didn't wake with us this morning. All we can do is give Glory to the most High God.
I'm feeling blessed this morning, and i hope you feel the same. If not, don't sweat it...the day is still young.

While i was browsinf the internet just few mintutes ago, i came across an article that is quite intresting, if i may say so. The title read: "Inmates get stimulus checks". Now, if you ask me, I'll say WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!!! As I read on, the article also states that the government accidently sent those inmates $250 each. It also says that the money was reall ysuppose to go towards people who were eligable for Social Security benefits. ( Something like that). I didn't read the whole thing, but that was enough to wake me up from day-dreaming. lol

My point is that maybe, just maybe, the government aren't as organized as they ought to be. I mean, they are giving away money TO THE WRONG PEOPLE!!! How many time as this happened but never reported????
All i'm saying is we just have to on point in everything we do especially if it's going to affect the people around us.

Well, that all for today. Stay blessed and lets pray for our society also. We all need a little bit of pray every now and then

Descriptive Paragraph

English 1101- descriptive paragraph

August 25, 2009

A friend

Some say she has the physic of the R&B artist, Keyshia Cole, some say she could sing as though
the world is coming to an end. With the exact personality same as mine is what makes us the
best of friends. She lights up room just as much as light over-powers darkness with such grace
and classiness in her actions. Her complexion is the opposite of my West African Dark Beauty as
she stands confidently under 5 “3” with the attitude of a star. With the mind of what the
“streets” would call a “hustler”, comes uniqueness in the way she put her words. She carries
her attitude with so much caring and the will to support those surrounded by her and not only
that, she has the gift of listening and understanding instead the opposite. Born and raised in
Macon, Ga with same age as I am, is my best friend since the 11th grade of my high school,
Latoya Woodford.
Good Morning.

Today is yet another day. As you may have noticed, i'm not having a hard time starting a blog today. Lol, guess i'm adapting to this blog thing. Kind of find it exciting to put up my morning thoughts fo others to read, hopefully to relate.

I need the public advice.

Lets say you are stuck between your heart and your head, which would you follow? Keep in mind your head tell you the facts and at times, may tell you what you don't want to hear. But your heart is the oppposite. Our heart feeds off our emotional feelings. At times, we may find our heart attached to something we know not to get attached to.

Yet, the question still stands. Head or Heart, which would you follow?
